Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford has confirmed that a sequel to Borderlands is in the works.
Pitchford broke the news during a conversation with VG247, saying "I'm sure Duke will have some demands of me and I've gotta work on Borderlands 2, right?"
Pitchford was still dismissing claims that Borderlands 2 was in the works as late as last month, asking "What's Borderlands 2?" in response to rumours sweeping the internet.
News of a sequel probably shouldn't come as too much of a surprise. The original game's creative director previously told VG247 that a follow-up was "a no-brainer".
Borderlands launched on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC back in October 2009. It's reportedly sold over 3 million copies.
